It's all about pleasing the customer at Clair Brothers Systems.
Looking to fill orders faster and demonstrate its equipment better, the Manheim Borough firm is launching a $2.5 million expansion.
Roughly half of the 55,000-square-foot addition will be a "demo studio" to showcase its world-renowned audio, video and lighting systems.
The other half will be used for extra production space, so Clair Brothers can assemble more of its speaker cabinets and related electronics.
"This is really about completing what we had in mind from the beginning," said David Deibler, corporate operations officer.
When Clair Brothers opened the South Oak Street and Clair Boulevard plant in 2009, that original 50,000-square-foot facility was designed to be enlarged someday, he said.
"We just didn't know when it was going to happen. We thought maybe it would be a five-year plan, but it's happening before that …," Deibler said.
"In this economy, it's nothing short of amazing that we've had such a good start to this business," he said Tuesday.
Construction of the addition began last week. It's expected to be finished in six months.
